Canada’s newest best-kept secret has arrived and it's a breath of fresh air! His name is PARTYNEXTDOOR. A 21-year-old R&B singer from Ontario who caught the attention of Hip Hop megastar Drake was eventually signed to the artist’s label OVO Sound. He also offered his unique vocals and sound to Drake’s Nothing Was The Same track “Own It”. Partynextdoor’s, also known as PND, debut album entitled “Two” hit shelves this summer with it’s edgy and gritty sex appeal. With it’s leading single “ Recognize” featuring Drake, it was obvious that this album would have something great to offer.

Partynextdoor sings honestly about love, relationships, desire, and of course love making over seductive yet urban production. In “Thirsty”, which features a clever sample from rapper Missy Elliot, PND belts lyrics that offer vulnerability and rawness to a woman that he is trying to pursue. “Promise to love you and obey. And hit it more than once a day. Girl I say that genuinely. F*** that B**** is what you say”. This album offers track after track of hit songs including “Bout it”, “Sex on the beach”, “Options” and “Fwu”. Not all the songs are racy tunes. One stand out track entitled “Her way”, PND melodically sings about a young woman who lives a fast life that includes preying on men to get her way.

Overall, PARTYNEXTDOOR is a promising new addition to the music scene. He does not blend in with the crowd. Instead, he makes a lane for himself and creates his own sound. Anyone who can sample artists such as Sam Smith, Ginuwine, and Missy Elliot in one setting has a keen ear for music. Not to mention he produces all of his own tracks.
