Vladimir Putin The Voice Of Reason?

August 4, 2013—Russian president Vladimir Putin addressed the Duma, (Russian Parliament) and spoke about minorities in Russia: “In Russia, live like Russians. Any minority, from anywhere, if it wants to live in Russia, to work and eat in Russia, it should speak Russian, and should respect the Russian laws. If they prefer Sharia law, and live the life of Muslims, then we advise them to go to those places where that’s the state law.”

In America we speak of the woman in the harbor who welcomes “your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me…”

It has become un-American to suggest we rethink our immigration policy, which isn’t really a rethinking but accepting the wisdom of Theodore Roosevelt, who stated in 1907:

“… We should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person’s becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American… There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag… We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language… and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.”

Sounds eerily similar to Putin’s words spoken more than a century later.

America, once known as the Melting Pot, was built upon immigration. But those immigrants of yesteryear learned our ways, our language; they abided by our laws, became American. There is a reason why immigrants must pass a test in order to become citizens of the United States.

That’s not to say an immigrant must give up their culture. My father, who was born to Polish immigrants, wrote and spoke Polish until the day he died. Proud of his heritage, he was prouder to be an American, so proud that he risked his life by serving in the Marine Corps, participating in the war in the South Pacific.

Today the Left has gotten so preoccupied with the rights of individuals that the rights of all have been forgotten, to the point where the silent majority, when they speak up, are slammed for being unpatriotic Right Wing extremists.

Putin: “Russia does not need Muslim minorities. Minorities need Russia, and we will not grant them special privileges, or try to change our laws to fit their desires, no matter how loud they yell ‘discrimination’. We will not tolerate disrespect of our Russian culture. We better learn from the suicides of America, England, Canada, Holland and France, if we are to survive as a nation. The Muslims are taking over those countries and they will not take over Russia. The Russian customs and traditions are not compatible with the lack of culture or the primitive ways of Sharia law and Muslims.”

Ibrahim Hooper, national spokesperson for Council on America-Islamic Relations: “If Muslims ever become a majority in the United States, it would be safe to assume that they would want to replace the U.S. Constitution with Islamic law, as most Muslims believe that God’s law is superior to man-made law.”

A June 2015 Polling Co poll indicated that 51% of Muslims living in the U.S. preferred having “the choice of being governed according to Sharia law.” While 60% of Muslim-Americans under age 30 told Pew Research that they’re more loyal to Islam than America.

That’s not immigration; that’s a movement against America.
